
Tycoon Chou Kuo-hung is a philanderer. He gets his typist Li Chiu-hua pregnant and the distraught girl kills herself. When Chou’s fiancee Su Hsiu-lan refuses to have sex with him, the playboy seduces his cashier Liu Ming-hua. Li Tung-hai, one of Chou’s executives, loves Su but his affections are not returned. In anger, he tells her of Chou’s indiscretions but the girl refuses to believe him. Chou keeps a room in an inn as a place of rest in which to record in a diary his romantic escapades. He next chases and sleeps with Lu Chi-mei. The night he’s with Lu, Liu is found murdered. The unruffled Chou goes after art student Chu Li-chen and is about to make her succumb when her classmates return. Chou leaves. That very night, Lu is murdered. The police begin to suspect the wealthy Romeo. Su, meanwhile, finds Chou’s diary and leaves for Japan in a huff. She phones him from Tokyo for an explanation and with things sorted out, they spend Christmas together. All the while, Chou suspects someone is laying a trap for him. The girls with whom he’s been intimate have all been murdered. He decides to return to Hong Kong to get to the heart of the matter. He visits Chu, only to find her strangled. He is arrested, stands trial for murder and is sentenced to life imprisonment. At a retrial, Chou’s lawyer presents vital new facts. Su and he lay a trap for the killer, with Su as bait. As the murderer is about to strangle her, the lawyer and police break in and arrest the man. But who is he?
